Down to Business

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I moved the diner to the seaside so I could add the Sunset Valley Mall to the vacant lot where the diner used to be.  This lot has Doo Peas Corporate Towers and Sunflower Spa in a single lot and a bit of landscaping for Sims to hang out in.

On the opposite corner where the spa used to be I added a larger lot to take Restylers Salon.  This is the revamped standard Ambitions salon with landscaping to match in with the mall.

I cleared some trees and moved the lot the spa used to be on to the opposite side of the road.  This is Suds Laundromat for all those poor Sims that don't have washing machines at home or like to hang out in public and wash their dirty laundry.

A Little Ditty about Hank & Pauline

Hank Goddard and Pauline Wan are one of my favourite townie couples so I didn't want to change them too much.  I kept Hank's quiet nerdy look but made Pauline a bit more rock and roll.  Wan never really suited her so I made her Wilder ... wilder by name, wilder by nature.

I think I may have mentioned already that I don't like the way the townies are pretty much singles and couples without any family links in town.  So I've added Jay to the household as Pauline's lazy rock guitarist brother. Here they are ... though maybe the sport channel isn't their thing.

Ah, that's more like it ... oh yeah life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone (just in case you were waiting for the little ditty bit).

And now the house which is one of the seafront pre-mades.  I kept the basics of the weatherboard (clapboard) original but fixed the roof and balconies (the ones on the pre-mades always seem a bit awkward).

Downstairs, a large living area and eat-in kitchen as well as bathroom and laundry ...

And two bedrooms and another bathroom upstairs ...

Sunset Valley Library

Back to my makeover of Sunset Valley. Around the park from the Little Corsican Bistro is the Sunset Valley Library, next to the Police Department.  It's not quite a Gothic library (maybe next time) but I did try for something solid but welcoming. Somewhere my Sims will want to spend the day reading and writing.

This is a view of the new foyer looking through to the ground floor reading room ...

... and then from the reading room, through the foyer to the children's area ...

... and finally the children's area itself.

Upstairs there are plenty of books to read for building skills ... and more than enough desks to choose from to write that best selling novel at.
