01 March 2011

It's now one week since a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Christchurch, New Zealand, with 155 confirmed deaths to date and around 50 people still missing.  Thankfully my family are safe in the north of New Zealand and those that I know in Christchurch are safe too.  But it is hard to express just how moved I am by the individual stories of loss and heartbreak, as well as heartened by the courage, resilience and solidarity shown by the people of Christchurch.

So I will leave it to my favourite blogger-in-residence who is able to share her experiences in 'Satan's bouncy castle' with such compassion and humour.  Over to you Moata  ...
